This terraced property was stripped-out and extensively reconstructed in the modern international taste of its owners. A key feature of our design was the smoothly curving stairwell, in pre-cast concrete, that was craned in through the rooflight. The stairs were finished with deep projecting limestone treads and a single blade of frameless glass four-storeys in height.

With sensitive contextual design and sustained political lobbying Gebler Tooth was able to secure one of the only ‘high modernist’ planning consents in the Chelsea Conservation Area.
