The brief asked by the FA when they relocated their headquarters from Soho to Wembley Stadium was for something fresh and exciting; providing a collaborative working environment with spaces, furniture and aspect combining to stimulate contact, buzz and link with the sport and its direction.
Acting as the lead designer of a multi-disciplinary team a complex organisational integration was achieved that fully utilised the dramatic space beneath raking terraces. There was a further emphasis to create a social hub, a space in which staff are able to socialise, watch a game, shoot pool, or just have a casual meeting. Public areas such as the FA boardroom required a degree of gravitas, as well as style, to lend the right feeling of tradition and authority that was intended
